When I first played 999, I really had no idea what to expect — I didn't know a single thing about the game other than that it was very highly regarded and had something to do with escaping rooms. I knew just as little going into the sequel, VLR, although I expected the games to have some similarities, at least.
Honestly, after 999, I really should have expected that VLR was going to take me for a wild ride.
Sigma is what's really stuck with me, though, above everything else in the series. As much as I love a couple other key characters in the series, Sigma stuck out to me because of VLR's brilliant narrative structure. Seeing the protagonist develop along with the various endings was fascinating, and the twists and turns that went along with Sigma's character remain some of the best I've ever experienced. I'd love to expand this into a fansite in the future, probably after I replay the series, in order to talk about Sigma's character in more depth.
The site title, tu fui, ego eris, is a Latin phrase meaning what you are, I was; what I am, you will be and ties into VLR's plot.
Resources used in the layout are from carllton, chamberten and tbh-1138.
I'd love to affiliate with any fanlisting related to Zero Escape or similar visual novel characters. Contact me if you're interested.
